Link in bio is the single clickable URL Instagram allows in a profile. For the last decade it's been the default monetization endpoint — a Linktree, Beacons, Stan, Koji, or Beacons landing page hosting 5-15 destinations: latest product, newsletter signup, affiliate roundup, etc.

It still exists. It still gets traffic. But its conversion math is brutal in 2026, and treating it as your only off-platform handoff is leaving 80% of revenue on the table.

The conversion problem
