Don't feel like reading?

A useful affiliate reel answers a shopping question: how a kurta fits, what fits inside a bag, or which products you used for a look. The next job is helping an interested viewer find those exact products. This guide takes one reel from recommendation to delivered link, then separates clicks, orders and confirmed earnings so you can see what happened.

Reviewed 7 September 2026. The examples below are setup examples and illustrative arithmetic, not claims about typical creator income or guaranteed commission rates.

Start with products you can explain

The gistChoose three products your audience has a reason to ask about, then verify the exact offers.

Before joining another app, list products you already use and can demonstrate. Record the exact variant, destination URL, price shown today and any limitations you would want a buyer to know. A helpful recommendation earns trust even when someone decides not to buy.

Look up those products in your chosen platform. Availability, eligible order value, commission, exclusions and allowed sharing channels can differ by merchant. Do not assume that a brand appearing in a logo wall means every product or every order earns commission.

If you are deciding between apps, use our Faym vs Wishlink comparison. Both offer product DM automation. You may already have the delivery feature you need.

Set up your first affiliate reel

  1. Pick one shopping question. For example: “What fits in this everyday tote?” Show the product, the useful detail and a limitation.
  2. Verify the destination. Generate an eligible link in the program you use, or check the product URL in Creator Lane's available programs. Keep the tracking parameters intact.
  3. Choose a clear keyword. “Comment TOTE for the product link” tells viewers exactly what they will receive. Avoid asking for a comment unrelated to the promised content.
  4. Write the delivery message. Identify the product and the link, include a clear affiliate disclosure, and avoid unsupported discounts or stock claims.
  5. Test before publishing the invitation. Check the reel, keyword and destination. Have a separate eligible account test the comment and DM, then open the destination on a phone.
  6. Use one delivery flow. If another tool already responds to the same reel, decide which should handle it so the viewer does not receive competing messages.
Here's the tote from my reel. I use the medium size; check the seller's current measurements and price before ordering. This is an affiliate link, so I may earn a commission if you buy.

That message delivers the requested information. It does not need a fabricated deadline or a promise that the item will work for everyone. For messaging rules and account setup, see the Instagram automation checklist.

How to send multiple product links from one reel

The gistFor a complete outfit or routine, send one clearly labeled collection containing the exact products.

Suppose your reel shows a kurta, bag and sandals. A single keyword such as LOOK can send one collection page with all three items. Name each item as it appears in the reel and give each its own button. This keeps the DM readable and lets the viewer choose the item they wanted.

Example: one outfit reel, three product destinations
What the viewer seesCollection labelCheck before sharing
Blue kurtaBlue kurta · size guideExact color and seller size chart
Tan shoulder bagTan bag · dimensionsModel, dimensions and current availability
Flat sandalsSandals · fit notesVariant and return information

Use a collection or storefront that supports your approved links. A network-hosted collection keeps its own tracking; an external collection needs to preserve each network's link and comply with its terms. Do not strip affiliate identifiers or assume you can combine offers whose terms prohibit that placement.

If people consistently ask for just the bag, make a separate bag reel with its own keyword and destination. That gives you a clean product-specific test without adding complicated branching to the original reel.

If the collection sits outside Creator Lane, a click on the collection link is all Creator Lane can establish by itself. Use the collection's analytics or supported tracking links to measure individual product clicks. An external store's order still needs its own conversion record.

Measure delivery, clicks, orders and earnings separately

Keep a small log per reel: the offer, keyword, publication date, requesting commenters, delivered DMs, tracked link clicks, attributed orders and confirmed commission. Use the same time window when comparing reels, and account for the reporting delay in the network.

  • Comments but few deliveries: check the trigger, account permissions and delivery status.
  • Deliveries but few clicks: check whether the message identifies the promised product and whether the destination opens correctly.
  • Clicks but few orders: investigate stock, price, size information and the seller's checkout. The DM tool cannot fix all of these.
  • Orders but little confirmed commission: inspect attribution rules, excluded products, returns and confirmation status in the network.

A click is evidence of interest. It is not evidence of a purchase. Creator Lane's supported affiliate programs can record reported conversions; external networks remain the source for orders and earnings on links they issue.

Why pending earnings can change before payout

Wishlink's creator terms say eligible earnings reflect net order value after returns and cancellations and depend on brand confirmation. Its creator FAQ describes month-end processing for commissions confirmed in that month. The day someone places an order is therefore not necessarily the month you receive money.

Faym's FAQ distinguishes estimated, on-hold and approved earnings. Its Instant Payout feature has its own eligibility conditions. Check your actual wallet and current terms rather than planning expenses around a headline rate or an estimated balance.

For an illustrative calculation, suppose eligible orders total ₹10,000, ₹2,000 is removed for returned or cancelled items, and the applicable rate is 5%. The resulting commission is ₹400 before any applicable adjustments or deductions: (₹10,000 − ₹2,000) × 5%. The 5% rate is an example, not a quoted rate for any platform or product.

Where Creator Lane helps

Creator Lane lets you run Instagram keyword campaigns and measure link clicks by campaign. Its affiliate features include browsing available programs, checking product eligibility, generating eligible links and viewing reported earnings. Coverage depends on the connected providers and current merchant programs; an unsupported product does not automatically become commissionable.

You can also deliver permitted external affiliate links or link to your own offer. External-link commissions stay with the issuing network's reporting and payout process. Creator Lane excludes Amazon links from its affiliate conversion in DMs; do not assume one network's permissions apply to another.

Test a small, specific workflow: one helpful reel, one promised destination and one measurement you can act on. When that works, expand to another product or question your audience actually asks.

Frequently asked

How do I share multiple product links from one Instagram Reel?
Put clearly labelled product links on one collection page and send that page in the keyword reply. Check each product and link before launch. Use separate keyword mappings only when the campaign supports them and you have tested the matches.
Do I need a separate DM tool if I use Faym or Wishlink?
Not necessarily. Both advertise product DM automation. Test the workflow you already have; use another tool when it addresses a specific requirement such as your own destination links or campaign-level link tracking.
Why do I get affiliate clicks but no sales?
Check product availability, destination accuracy, audience fit and the program's attribution rules. A click shows interest, not a purchase. Check the affiliate platform's order records before concluding a sale was untracked.
Do returns really cut my affiliate income?
Returns and cancellations can reduce or reverse commissions under the program's rules. Check confirmed earnings separately from initially tracked orders; there is no guaranteed rate or payout timeline for every merchant.
Can Creator Lane generate affiliate links?
Creator Lane supports native affiliate links for eligible products through configured programs. Check the product in your workspace first; merchant coverage, allowed channels, approval and payout conditions still apply.

Try it with one product reel
