Page 1 Too Much of Anything Isn't “Healthy” Either How to Prevent — and Help Manage — 5 Common Overdoing Habits Even things that seem harmless in moderation can cause real problems in excess. The lesson isn't to fear any of these — it's that balance applies to almost everything, even things marketed as “healthy.” This guide covers 5 common examples: what happens when you overdo each one, how to prevent it, and how to help manage it if it's already become an issue. ■ Too Much Coffee → Anxiety High caffeine intake can overstimulate the nervous system, worsening anxiety symptoms and disrupting sleep. How to Prevent It  Keep intake to roughly 2-3 cups a day (under ~400mg caffeine)  Avoid coffee on an empty stomach, which can worsen jitteriness  Set a cut-off time (e.g. no coffee after 2pm) to protect sleep How to Manage It  Cut back gradually rather than stopping suddenly, to avoid withdrawal headaches  Swap 1-2 cups for decaf or herbal tea instead of quitting outright  Use slow breathing (like 4-7-8) if you feel wired or anxious  If anxiety is frequent or severe, consult a doctor rather than self-managing long-term ■ Too Much Water → Electrolyte Imbalance Drinking excessive water without adequate sodium/electrolytes can dilute blood sodium levels (hyponatremia), which can be serious.…
